While chatting in their knitting café, five Bergerac women designed and produced a charming little book that has just been published by Les Livres de l'Îlot. They talk about the Dordogne and what makes the richness and beauty of this region of France.
The cultivation of strawberries, truffle farming, Monbazillac for gastronomy but also hiking trails in Saint Crépin de Richemont, chasms in Proumeyssac without forgetting the high places of history as in Cadouin or the river and its fish at the aquarium of Bugue. These rather short texts reflect more a sensual interest in the country than a scholarly research on the places traveled.
All five of them are ardent knitters and have peppered this circuit with creations inspired by each of the places they have visited. They offer you a dozen accessories, scarves, snood or capeline, to make quickly to offer or to bring back as a souvenir after a stay in the Dordogne, such as a tourist visit to knit.
In total here is a 100% Périgord book, clear and precise, beautifully edited by the Livres de l'Îlot who have magnified all these knitting pieces. While we advocate the handmade, a reasoned consumption and the protection of nature "In the meshes of the Périgord", this is the title of this original book, offers you an adventure made of calm and softness with a peaceful visit to the rhythm of your knitting needles ...
