Since 1903, every year, the félibrée is one of the first festivals of the Périgord where a lively Occitan culture, a spirit of celebration and conviviality are found. It is a unique moment where the Felibrean spirit radiates in all its richness. The félibrée is the first popular festival of the Périgord and its long history deserved such a complete and entertaining book.

Most Périgordins have at least participated in a felibrée in their lives. In this book, they will naturally find a childhood or adolescence memory of this great colorful and noisy party, festive and dominated by the summer sun. The passage through the felibrée is a rite of initiation to approach closer to the soul and culture of Périgordines.

On the occasion of the hundredth felibrée, in Périgueux, the book was born from the meeting between the Bournat du Périgord, the Historical and Archaeological Society of Périgord and the editions Les Livres de l'Îlot.

It is undoubtedly a reference book for the memory of all lovers of Périgord and Occitan culture.
