Françoise Bourreau-Raluy, the author, after evoking the most ancient times, stages from the beginning of the seventeenth century many characters, whether they are priors of La Faye, nobles, bourgeois or common people.

The history of many families, whose surnames are often still in use today, the history of the village, the 45 hamlets of the commune, the thematic chapters, allowed him to tell the ways in which the inhabitants of Léguillac have gone through historical events, as well as a host of anecdotes revealing aspects of daily life according to the times.

She chose to finish this monograph in 1999, in order to deal with the silent revolution that significantly transformed the lives of the inhabitants during the last 25 years of the twentieth century.

Françoise Bourreau-Raluy is originally from Paris and has worked as a psychologist. Settled in Périgord in 1993, resident of Léguillac since 2000, she was a municipal councillor. On this occasion, she became interested in the heritage of her municipality. She thus began to frequent the Departmental Archives and to collect the testimonies of the elders of the commune. She wanted to convey her discoveries in this book. She is a member of the Historical and Archaeological Society of Périgord, and president of the Botanical Society of Périgord.
